It all started back in 1991
Oliver Moore started work with his father in the family commercial crash repair business after leaving school. He saw hauliers losing time and money with trailers that were off the road being repaired. It was at this point he saw an opportunity - rentals!
Oliver bought the first trailer
After a 3-year stint with a national truck and trailer rental company, Oliver returned to the business in 1997 to set up BS Trailer Services Ltd.
Building a fleet
Buying second-hand trailers and refurbishing them through his father’s body shop, BS Trailers built a fleet of 100 trailers in just 6 months. Simultaneously, their client base grew from hauliers in need of short-term replacements to large logistics companies in need of extra capacity.
Increasing demand for trailers
In the early 2000’s, demand for trailer hire was so high that BS placed its first order for a quantity of new SDC trailers. Each and every one had a long-term rental contract agreed before they even rolled off the production line.
Moved premises
To cope with the growing fleet, the business also moved premises twice in search of extra space and facilities, before settling at its current site outside Leighton Buzzard in 2005.
A new challenge
Shortly afterward, Oliver made a new friend in Tony Ireton. Tony and his father had just sold their very successful truck hire company and Tony was looking for a new challenge.
BS Truck Rental Ltd. formed
Just 12 months later, Oliver, Tony and his wife Diane formed BS Truck Rental Ltd.
From strength to strength
Going from strength to strength, with an ever-growing fleet of vehicles, BS Trailers installed a purpose-built MOT lane at its site in December 2014. This means everything today is now under one roof, including an on-site parts facility holding stock for all makes, steam cleaning & valeting bay, and most importantly 20,000 sq ft of dedicated service bays.
Growing with customer demand
The BS fleet continues to grow with customer demand and now stands at in excess of 3,000 trailers and 350 trucks. Plus, we don’t plan on stopping there!
