At BS Trailers, we have a range of Platform Skeletal, or PSK trailers available for contract, short and long-term rentals. A hybrid between standard flatbeds and skeletal trailers, our PSK trailer hire options provide fleet operators an easy way to keep their fleet moving.

Our PSKs are multifunctional tri-axle units with the advantages of a platform trailer, but also the added benefit of twistlocks fitted for containers which would normally be carried on skeletal trailers. Some of the PSKs in our fleet are also fitted with posts & sockets.

Available for nationwide UK delivery or same-day collection from Bedfordshire LU7.

Our Trailer Hire Process

STEP 1

SUBMIT YOUR ENQUIRY

Use the form below or call us to enquire about your trailer and the specifications you require (tail-lift, barn doors, roller shutters, etc).
STEP 2

COMPLETE YOUR ACCOUNT FORM

We’ll send you an account form to complete, which you will need to return alongside a copy of your current O Licence and insurance.
STEP 3

CREDIT CHECK

In all circumstances, your company must be based in the UK and return an acceptable credit score for the application to be processed.
STEP 4

ARRANGE A DELIVERY OPTION

Once accepted, we can offer same-day or next-day collection from Leighton Buzzard (LU7 9JH), or nationwide delivery from £3 per mile.
STEP 5

SERVICING & MAINTENANCE

Routine maintenance. Servicing. Normal tyre wear replacement. 24-hour national breakdown assistance. MOT. These are included as part of the rental price.

How much does PSK (Platform Skeletal) Trailer hire cost?

PSK trailer hire rates start from £120 per week, though this will depend on size and specifications. Hiring prices may be adjusted by BS Trailers based on:

Contract length.
Service cycle.
Operator’s licence terms.
Hire volume.
Credit rating.
Any relevant economic conditions.

What is included in the PSK HGV Trailer rental package?

Routine maintenance, servicing, normal tyre wear replacement, 24-hour national breakdown assistance and MOT are included as part of the rental price. Punctures, damage to the trailer and insurance are excluded and must be covered by the operator.

Do you deliver trailers, and what are the restrictions?

We deliver across the entirety of the UK from £3 per mile from LU7. We do not currently enforce a cap on mileage and can deliver to England, Scotland and Wales. Alternatively, collection can be made from our yard in Leighton Buzzard with prior notification and arrangement with the team.

What is a PSK Trailer?

A PSK (Platform Skeletal) trailer is a hybrid between a skeletal trailer and a flatbed trailer. It combines the framework of a skeletal trailer, which is designed to transport containers, with the versatility of a flat platform, allowing it to carry a wider variety of cargo. The flat platform provides additional stability and makes it suitable for transporting not only containers but also other types of goods that require a solid base.
