RENTAL FLEET

Our devotion to the customer

We will provide good, clean and tidy rental vehicles and trailers.
We cover all the routine servicing, MOT’s and preventative maintenance.
All reasonable tyre wear is covered.
We provide a 24-hour National breakdown & emergency assistance cover, with a 60–90-minute response timeframe target.
We provide a free replacement trailer on MOT.
We offer a paperless service, and all relevant compliance documents.
All our PMI and service documents are sent electronically within.

Our requirements from the customer

MOTs, Servicing and on-site PMIs

We try and plan our service engineers and agents wherever possible for routine servicing, so please give us as much notice as possible- at least 24 hours.
All MOTs are to be planned in with the routine PMIs.
Any requests for brake testing over and above the standard annual test, will be chargeable.
All trailers are to be delivered back to Leighton Buzzard for MOT’s or to our Allied Service Partners locally to the customer’s operating depot.
If a pre-planned PMI or defect is booked in and the vehicle or trailer is not on site when we attend-this could result in a call out charge being made.

Tyres

Any worn tyres put through to the office to be replaced after 4pm or before 8am we will be liable to a call out and will have to pass this cost on. Tyres do not wear out overnight!

Damage

The customer is liable for all damage sustained during the hire period.
The customer is liable for all punctures, excessive tyre wear & damage during the hire period.

Call out / breakdown procedure

Please call our main office number 01525 379995 for any issues trailer or vehicle related. Your call will be dealt with by a member of the BS Trailers staff during office hours by phone, or email (service.breakdown@bstrailers.com). Outside of those hours your phone call will be handled by one of our 24hr Nationwide Breakdown & Emergency Assistance Team.

Brake Testing

It is now the DVSA expectation to have 4 laden brake tests per year on commercial trailers. However, brake testing over and above the annual test at MOT are not included in the rental and are all chargeable. Alternatively, we can offer you brake monitoring in service and full tracking and on the trailers, via fitted Axscend TrailerMaster systems (please ask for more details if of interest)

Hirer's Daily Responsibilities

The items that require checking at the start of EVERY work shift and reporting on defects sheets are as follows:
Brakes, including air connections for routing & condition.
Tyre condition, tread condition, tread depth and inflation pressures.
Wheel nuts and security of wheels.
Lights, reflectors, rear markers and number plates.
Stop lights and indicators.
Drain air tanks.
Body condition (including cargo/restrain strap, tail lift stowage/security)
Check overall condition of the trailer for safety and compliance with legal requirements

Collections/De-Hire

All trailers must be collected from our site at Kings Farms Industrial Estate, Stanbridge Road, Great Billington, Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire LU7 9JH, unless a delivery has been requested, booked, and charges have been pre-agreed.
All trailers must be delivered back to our site (as above) unless collection has been previously requested, booked and charges have been pre-agreed. All trailer de-hires must be pre-booked with a minimum of 24hrs notice, during daylight hours, and inspected by a member of BS Trailer Services Ltd staff upon arrival. Failure to deliver trailers back to our site for de-hire will result in your company being liable for all related collection charges, in relation to the safe recovery of our assets.
